Wu said learned that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand announced on October 8 that it has officially issued 11 regulatory provisions related to cryptocurrency ETFs, which will take effect on October 16. In the first phase, ETFs will only be allowed to invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Products must be listed and traded on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, adopt a passive investment strategy, and the annual average net exposure to a single crypto asset must not be less than 80% of the fund's net asset value, with assets custodied by a regulated digital asset custodian. In addition, the new rules allow mutual funds and private funds to invest in domestic Thai cryptocurrency ETFs, but prohibit securities firms from providing margin financing services for purchases, and ordinary investors are temporarily unable to invest in overseas cryptocurrency ETFs through Thai securities firms.
